Climbing Club

The climbing club uses the rock climbing and high ropes facilities through school. We regularly operate either in house on the indoor climbing wall, on the external high ropes course or at a mixture of venues around Manchester throughout the school year.

Sessions that are advertised as “in school” will run from 3:15pm – 4:15pm. There is no cost for the use of the school facilities but there will be limited availability each session. Sessions that are advertised as being “off-site” will leave from school at 3:30pm, returning by approximately 6:30pm to the car park on the East Lancashire Road side of school. This car park will be open and available to you to use to collect participants from. The external sessions will cost pupils a maximum reduced fee of £6 to attend, which includes all the essential equipment. All external venues have small café facilities and can offer specialised climbing boots to be hired for a small additional cost.

As with any adventurous activity, there is the risk of injury. To minimise any chance of risk all sessions will be supervised by a qualified instructor. Pupils will learn a range of skills allowing them to climb and coach each other whilst prioritising each other’s safety.
