Welcome to the Drama Department:

Welcome to the Drama Department at Moorside High School! In Drama you will experience vibrant and exciting lessons delivered by teachers who are passionate about the Performing Arts.

There are plenty of opportunities to take part in extra curricular activities, such as trips to the theatre, whole school productions and lunchtime Drama Club.

Last year, Moorside High School presented two very successful performances; ‘Bugsy Malone’ and ‘Alice in Wonderland.’ In previous years we have staged, ‘Blood Brothers,’ ‘The Crucible,’ ‘Grease,’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ and ‘The Wizard of Oz’ to name but a few.

Moorside High School Drama department also provide opportunities for outside professionals to come in and work with the students. Recently, we have run workshops with theatre groups focused on Road Safety, Mental Health and Holocaust Remembrance Day. From the work created in the Holocaust Remembrance Day workshop our Year 10 students were even invited to perform at an event in front of the Mayor of Salford! We have close links with local playwright and actor Mickey Dacks who has also been into school to work with our GCSE students. We have also been visited by a casting agent on behalf of CBBC who auditioned 20 of our students for a part in the ‘4 o’clock Club.’

The opportunities at Moorside High are endless!
