V cert in Health and Fitness

What is the aim of the course?

The Level 2 qualification in health and Fitness (V CERT) has been designed to build on learning from Key Stage 3, for those who may wish to explore a vocational route through Key stage 4. The V CERT qualification in health and fitness will provide learners with experience of using different training techniques and methods, to enable them to use these within further education or apprenticeships. It will also provide them with an opportunity to develop and experience their own fitness programme. Learners completing these qualifications may seek employment within the sport and leisure industry at junior level in a range of roles including recreation assistants in sports centres and specialist gymnasiums.

What will I do? How is the course assessed?

The V CERT qualification will help to equip young people with a range of personal and physical skills that are relevant to the world of work. Students will develop key skills such as working with others, problem solving and personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life.
