Book Fair Takeover

Our Trip Back to Broadoak

On Thursday 23rd November we went back to Broadoak Primary to receive an award for our book fair takeover. We all had so much fun completing in our last of term of primary school.

The book fair takeover

The book fair takeover is where the Year 6 children plan and run the book fair. We all had different jobs to do such as:

  • Managers
  • Accountants
  • Sales advisers
  • Advertisement crew

Teachers gave us guidance but it was all up to the Year 6’s. We set a target of £700, which we exceeded, with a final total of £1100!

When Mr Williams, our Head of Year, took us all back to collect our award we met two CBBC presenters called Sam and Mark. They had written a new book and had secretly come to our old school to present our award to the school. They gave Broadoak a cheque of £500 for winning the competition. A lot of schools around Manchester entered but only our school won.

It was a fantastic day to be former Broadoak pupils.
