Burrs Activity Days

Burrs Activity Days- Year 7- September 2014

Last week saw Moorside High School’s annual trip to the Burrs activity centre in Bury, with Year 7 pupils. The primary focus of the trip is to help our students to: make new friends, develop successful teams, and challenge themselves, whilst also having lots of fun. The trip gives pupils the opportunity to see each other and their teachers in a completely different environment than school, which really helps to develop trust and support among all participants.

Everyone enjoyed the trip with the favourite activity being canoeing closely followed by climbing the obstacles. The other activities included: cross canal challenge, crate stack, and cargo net where everyone got the chance to test their nerve. It seems that another popular part of the day was being able to splash the teachers and even making Mr Williams walk the plank!

The behaviour and effort of all our pupils was excellent and the feedback from the instructors was that our ‘pupils showed great commitment and enthusiasm to complete the activities.’ Overall it was a great week of fantastic fun- filled activities where lasting friendships were formed.
