Year 10 Bletchley Park Trip

The Bletchley hall trip was an absolute privilege to attend and a great first hand look into the past of our country during World War 2. We learned about and understood the significant efforts of the staff that worked at the secret institution whilst simultaneously putting ourselves into their shoes. We were told how the secret of the location was kept, how messages were relayed and finally how the whole operation was successful. One of the highlights of the trip was seeing and using an original Enigma machine to encrypt and decrypt messages. As well as this, we got to see an exact replica of The Bombe in use and we were educated on how its inside work, its basic setup and how it was created. Seeing the history of Computing in our country helped us to understand the significance of the technology with have today and the sacrifice made by the brave men and women of Bletchley park which made it all possible.
