Year 10 Prefects: Victoria Park

We are really proud of our Year 10 prefects who gave up their time on Saturday to volunteer at a massive community event which took place in Victoria Park. It was to celebrate creativity and spread awareness about the community groups who offer support to people with mental health issues, something which Moorside thinks is really important.

The event was organised in partnership with local people, Salford council and a variety of mental health organisations including Salford poverty truth commission, Salford community and voluntary services, walk the plank, Academy of fun, arts, minds in Salford, Salford Clinical Group and more.

Our pupils worked with Academy of Fun to encourage children to take part in a variety of fun activities:

* Lego building

* Superhero training with our very own Eloise Anderson (Wonder Woman) and Harvey Rhodes (Spider-Man)

* Hungry Hippos

* Mad Hatters tea party

* Treasure hunt

* Ninja warrior type games

Thank you to Jack Bowley, Chelsea-Louise Gregory, Rebecca Ford, Rose Best, Eve Davies, Oliver Davidson, Macy King Jones, Eloise Anderson, Harvey Rhodes, Cara Lewis, James Roche and Kledion Shahini for supporting a worthwhile event in the community.

Thank you also to Mr Eden and Mrs Heppolette for accompanying me to support our students and bringing along their children Lily, Alfie, William and Grace to join in the fun.

What a fabulous day.
