Year 9 Information

Director of Learning - Mrs S Kirk

As Director of Learning for Year 9 I have an overview of student progress across all subjects. Pupils may be assigned a Learning Mentor to track progress and provide sessions after school or at lunchtime in order to support those students.

I also have an overview of pupil’s general well-being and provide support for many issues for example:

  • A death in the family
  • Home circumstances affecting a child
  • Problems completing homework
  • Time management
  • Long term illness
  • Hospitalisation (keeping academic work up to date)
  • Anything else affecting a child’s ability to progress well in school.

Please let us know of anything which is affecting your child.

I believe that alongside academic learning, teamwork is essential in life and for that reason I organise a range of social activities where students can get to know each other in a fun environment along with their form tutors, helping to forge excellent teacher pupils relationships and encourage the family ethos that Moorside is renowned for.
