A friendly, caring school with a family ethos

Young Carers

Here at Moorside High School we are aware that some students in our school may well have caring roles at home.

A young carer is someone aged 17 and under who helps look after a family member who has an illness, disability, mental health problem or addiction problem.

If you help to look after someone at home, you should have someone to talk to. Here in school we have dedicated family of staff and support available for students if you need someone to talk to, in confidence, if you feel you need some help or just a friendly chat. We have an open door policy to all young carers.

Our Young Carers Mission Statement:

My name is Mrs Graham; I am the point of contact for young carers at Moorside. If you ever need to talk to someone, I can be contacted through email ann.graham@moorsidehigh.com, 0161 921 1045 or you can speak to me in person.

The Young Carers mission statement is to support and enable all young carers at Moorside High School to achieve and succeed in their goals and ambitions. Our aim is to provide advice, a listening ear and help you participate fully in school life as a young person.
