Tate Liverpool Trip

On Tuesday 28th June, a group of Year 9 art students visited the Tate Liverpool to explore contemporary art as part of a project aimed at developing deeper thinking skills

Pupils enjoyed the exhibits, relishing the opportunity to analyse and discuss conceptual art. Students explored more unusual pieces of art including the work of Francis Bacon, challenging themselves to delve deeper and form their own interpretations. Pupils greatly appreciated the exhibit, making comments such as “You can never imagine the technical skill in his paintwork if you hadn’t had the opportunity to see it close up.  Also the scale of the pieces”.

Pupils valued their cultural day out in Liverpool and even had lunch on the banks of the Mersey near Pier head.
