Year 11 Reward Trip for English

On Thursday 24th November I took 14 of our Year 11 boys to the Manchester United Vs Feyenoord match, at Old Trafford. The boys won the reward trip due to their attitude and effort towards their GCSE English Language and Literature examinations. The reward was available for any of the year 11 boys to win and our 14 winners definitely deserved their seat at the game!

We met at school at 6pm and Mr Hackett kindly drove us there. Before we entered the  stadium we dined at one of the many burger stands on offer and posed for photographs amongst the thousands of fans. The atmosphere was electric with chanting that ran through the stadium at a rapid pace- we were keen to join in and eagerly found our seats.

After a superb first half we grabbed a hot chocolate and more food and excitedly awaited the second half-  one pupil continued to film every second and managed to film the goals in action, playing them back for us and providing a running commentary on his thoughts on the game so far. We had to leave a couple of minutes before the end to avoid being too late home but we heard the thunderous sounds of cheers as the fourth goal went in and all cheered together outside of the stadium. After a victorious game, we continued our singing on the coach and shared the photographs and videos with each other.

The pupils of Moorside High were once again an absolute pleasure to take on a trip and I look forward to rewarding the pupils again for their hard work and dedication in English.  Well done Year 11!
