Assistant SENDCO

Required for September 2018

NJC Grade 7 points 26 -29 (£26,866 - £26470) pro rata

28 hours, 4 days per week + 5 training days

Hours of work 8:00 am to 3:30 pm daily

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible and experienced Assistant SENDCO to work within the SEN Faculty at this highly successful, oversubscribed ‘Good’ (Ofsted 2014) school with ‘Outstanding Behaviour and Safety’. We strive to nurture growth and develop every individual within our school, pupils and staff work together to ensure that not only is hard work expected and rewarded, but that there is enjoyment to be experienced along the way.

You will need:

  • The ability to make sound judgements and communicate them effectively
  • Be able to develop curriculum resources to ensure all SEND pupils have the required levels of support
  • To support the SENDCO in managing the implementation of an inclusive curriculum
  • To manage appropriate resources for supporting the learning of SEND pupils and ensure they are used efficiently, effectively and safely
  • Be able to present a welcoming, professional, positive image of the school
  • Be professional hardworking, reliable and punctual
  • Work well as part of a team and be able to use own initiative
  • Adapt flexibly to different situations
  • Have relevant school experience
  • Be able to multi-task and work under pressure
