Open Evening

Thursday 9th October, 4:30pm-6:30pm

Staff and students at Moorside High School are thrilled to invite you to our 2025 Open Evening. On the evening, prospective parents and students can get a real feel for what the school offers and ‘The Moorside Way’. Headteacher Talks take place at 5:00pm & 6:00pm in the Sports Hall.

We are delighted to invite our Year 10 and Year 11 Parents and Carers to our Information & Guidance Evenings. The Y11 Information Evening will take place on Thursday, 18th September from 5:30–6:30pm. The Year 10 Information Evening will take place on Monday, 22nd September from 5:30–6:30pm.

  • CAT Test Parent Letter Sept 25

    We hope your child is settling in well at Moorside High School and the transition from primary school has been a positive one. Next week (week commencing 15th September), as with previous year groups at Moorside High School, our Year 7 students will start to sit a small number of baseline tests.

    I hope this letter finds you well. As part of our commitment to improving the literacy skills of our students, we will once again be conducting an NGRT assessment of the reading ages of our Year 8 and 9 students.

    At Moorside, we are always keen to develop our school environment to best meet the needs of our students. With this in mind, we are excited to share that we are relocating our current Mez Room to a new and improved space, which will now be known as the Academic Intervention Centre.

    Mr Birchall writes this letter really proud and very excited to be continuing as your child’s Head of Year. Year 8 was an enjoyable and successful year. So many of the 240 students have developed myriad positive habits, which he is certain they will carry forward with them into Year 9.
