We are pleased to introduce our Year 7 Student Enrichment Takeover Hour, which will take place during Period 5 PSHE on the final Wednesday of each half-term. This will provide students with six opportunities across the academic year to explore new interests, develop skills and enjoy experiences beyond the usual classroom curriculum.

As we head into the colder months, we know that coughs, colds, and seasonal bugs become more common. It’s natural to be cautious when your child feels under the weather, and we appreciate the care you take in deciding whether they’re well enough for school. We also understand that there can be some confusion around when children should stay home, and we want to offer clear, supportive guidance to help you make those decisions confidently.

To help inspire our pupils to progress on to Higher Education, and learn about the range of options available to them after high school.

This is an important opportunity to meet with your child's teachers, discuss how they have settled into the academic year and Moorside High School, celebrate their successes, and gain valuable insight into what they need to do to continue making positive progress. As part of our commitment to supporting every child to become a confident and successful reader, students will be completing a reading assessment called the New Group Reading Test (NGRT) this week (w/c Monday 21^st September 2026).
