All members of our school belong to a ‘House’, these are all named after famous Salfordians

• Joule (John Prescott Joule)
• Lowry (LS Lowry)
• Pankhurst (Emeline Pankhurst)

This system fosters a great sense of belonging and identity amongst the school community. It allows for House assemblies, comprising all House members from Years 7-11, opportunities for each House to hold fundraising events for a chosen charity and Inter-House competitions during the year, culminating in the final Sports Day competition at the end of the school year when the overall winning House for the year is announced.

Pastoral Interventions

Our pastoral care system is central to supporting students and their families. We have a strong team of staff who are always on hand to support our students. Every child has a Form Tutor who is their first call of support. All students are grouped into mixed ability form groups, guided and supported by a Head of Year. Each form group will have a Form Tutor who is the main contact for any issues that may arise. The Form Tutor has responsibility for the day to-day welfare of your child and will monitor their progress and attainment throughout the year.

Some of the services we offer:

• Bespoke, child centred interventions
• Referrals to external services for ongoing and regular support of students and their families
• Collaboration with external services to ensure student’s needs are continually addressed through Early Help and Child Action Meetings
• Provide advice, support and information for students and their families through the School Website, and Information evenings within school
• Delivery of Preventative Programs, Workshops, Presentations and Courses, developed and delivered in various methods 

How to access support?

Parents are asked in the first instance, where possible to make initial contact with the Head of Year. The Head of Year will address all concerns and make appropriate referrals where necessary.

By keeping the Head of Year informed at all times, they will be able to identify areas of concern in their Year Group and provide regular support for students. Students are able to self-refer for support and are encouraged to do so.
